RMF TEAM MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS INTERVENE IN REMOVING DEBRIS

Over 100 team members and volunteers coming from all over Lebanon were united to assist the
most affected areas of Beirut blast. They wholeheartedly supported survivors living in buildings
whose walls had flaws or missing parts, or in houses whose ceilings were collapsed. A group of
experts provided case management services and assessed the damages and needs. Moreover, a
group of RMF volunteers walked the corridors of Saint Georges Hospital staring at the
destruction, where the rubble lay scattered lay on the floor and on beds, broken glasses and traces
of blood all over the place. They helped clear out residual materials from the hospital. This
initiative marked the first on-site intervention in hospitals. Affected residents living in
Gemmayze and Mar Michael expressed their appreciation to RMF volunteers who cleaned the
post-explosion debris, removed glass and rubbish. The René Moawad Foundation will be
providing hospitals with medical supplies, equipment and medication.
