With over 50% of our people now living under the poverty line, we are launching a crisis-response program to help alleviate some of the suffering being endured by our people. We have chosen 3 most vulnerable regions to operate within: South, Bekaa and North. With your help we will be able to distribute food boxes to the most impoverished communities in Akkar, Dunniyeh, Tripoli, Batroun, Zgharta al Zawiyah, Beshari, Koura, Zahleh, West Bekaa, Saida/al Zahrani and Jezzine. Food boxes range in cost between $40 and $100 (or equivalent in Lebanese Lira) depending on the size and situation of the family/beneficiary. “To be raised in 12 months, till April 2021”
Main challenge was lack of proper database and proper system at State level so we developed a transparent database, which some international institutional donors are relying on and also developed a clear system (attached) where we could efficiently and effectively cover the scope stated previously.
Through our 3 main regional hubs
- Mejdalaya covering North: Akkar, Tripoli, Beshare, Zgharta, Koura & Batroun (16.5% of population)
- Ferzol covering Bekaa: Zahleh and West Bekaa (0.95%)
- Lebaa covering South: Jezzine, Saida & Zahrani (3.7%)
Deployment started from North, with poorest & most vulnerable communities and will continue to the other regions.
With 50% of our national population now below the poverty line, it will require a colossal investment to cover them all, an endeavor we cannot claim to be able to do. Nonetheless, with your help we will do our very best to distribute relief to the widest target possible, within these 3 regions.
To carry out and implement this program, RMF aims to raise $500,000/month or $6,000,000/year of “Fresh Money” or equivalent (300,000LBP/Box; 1,500,000,000LBP/month), partly through a combination of International Institutions, Corporate & Individual Donors:
- $100/box (Content will follow WHO guidelines and include hygiene and sanitary supplies to help people fight the spread of COVID19)
- 5,000 boxes/month to be distributed in the 3 designated regions
RMF will contribute its expertise, offices and teams and cover the logistical costs such as transportation, safety kits, and others.

We will roll out this program in phases on the basis of funds raised.
